This weekend we had a special interview with Johnny Yong Bosch, the American actor, voice actor, martial artist, and musician that has attracted tons of fans in the anime, martial arts, film, and music communities. Representing two S-Words (Sentai for his Power Rangers work and Seiyuu for his voice work in Trigun, Bleach, and Devil May Cry 4), we sat down with Mr. Bosch for a nice chat about acting, motion capture work, the Power Rangers, and how he's such a swell guy. So please take a 30-minute break and check out our chat with one of the nicest guys working in the acting world.
Now, while I can't say I'm a fan of english anime dubs, (although I didn't mind them at one point; applicable here would be Trigun. Johnny's voice still comes to mind for me when I think of Vash.) I definitely enjoyed hearing him talk about his work, and how he enjoys it. Especially his work on Power Rangers, since I know I enjoyed watching it when I was little, and have especially fond memories attached to the movie. It's great to hear he was likely having as much fun doing it as I was watching it.
Anyway, thanks for letting us hear this interview. Good stuff. It'd be great if you guys can do more like this in the future.
I have to agree with you on the Trigun one. Although i usually avoid dubs, to say the least, very enthusiastically (although if you think about it, you usually prefer the anime in whatever language you start watching it in, whether it be japanese or other) Trigun seem to be one of the animes that i actually prefer the dub over the original. Though it hasn't convinced me to start watching dubs, it has gained the distinction of being one of the very few i re-watch.
Ummm, I'm having difficulty getting it to play. OR download.

Fixed. Sorry about that. Was playing around with some options.
No prob, just wanted to make sure it was known on your end. Look forward to the listening.
And now, having listend, grats on an awesome interview.
I thought you guys did a great interview. His usual anime convention appearances are always very limited in terms of questions, such as the typical "How did you get into voice acting?" type of thing. I liked hearing about his experience with DMC4 and how he has applied his martial arts and acting career to his work post-Power Rangers.
I'm a big fan of his band, Eyeshine, and was hoping to hear more from that front. But Johnny is a really talented person and deserves credit and exposure for his work. I always thought he was very underrated and I'm glad to see you guys take him seriously.
Yeah, we were looking to ask questions that would explore topics that usually aren't covered during a usual voice-acting panel. Glad to know we did delve into some new subjects.
I had wanted to go into Eyeshine a bit more (I noticed I forgot to mention the name of his band), but there was only a limited amount of time to go into everything during our scheduled interview. I guess we'll catch up on that more next time.
I dunno if y'alls can answer this question or not, but any idea when Broken Path is coming out? He mentioned it once in the interview and I haven't really heard much about it for a while.
