Quite possibly one of the greatest creature and special effects gurus of our childhoods, Mr. Stan Winston was a 4-time Academy Award winner and brilliant design lead for such classic creatures as the T-800 (Terminator), Predator, Alien Queen (Aliens), The Thing, and the T-Rex and other dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. In addition, his makeup work has been notable in such films as Edward Scissorhands and Batman Returns. Mr. Winston passed away last year and for us, it was the loss of a true legend of Hollywood. Join us as we think about the man's accomplishments.
Intro/Outro Music: Can I Be A Star by Burnshee Thornside.
Commercial Music: Hometown Hero from My Dog Skip by William Ross.
Editor's Note: Stan Winston did help James Cameron with designs for Avatar, but his studio is not contributing to the film beyond that. Weta Digital is signed to work on visual effects for the film.

To dom:
The technically right way to hail the internets would have been:
"Ave Internets. Morituri te salutant" <- note the salutant, not salutamus.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ave_Caesar_morituri_te_salutant
I'm aware of that. I've even done that on my Twitter before. However, we make mistakes on the podcast because we don't write it all out. It happens.
Well I write it all out, and then forget to bring it to the recording
If they had Stan Winston, could/would they have actually done the squid?
Could anyone here make a list of the songs they said. I couldn't hear them well. Please and thank you!
I didn't know Paul W S Anderson did the Mortal Kombat and Event Horizon movies. I actually liked those movies.
