It is a period of podcast recording. Super Geeks, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Garignak Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the TAINT NEEDLE, an armored space station with enough power to destroy anyone's dignity. Pursued by the Empire’s sinister agents, the S-Words crew records a new podcast aboard their starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save the Internet and restore freedom to the galaxy….
Intro Music: Main Title (The Empire Strikes Back) by John Williams
Outro Music: The Rebel Fleet/End Title (The Empire Strikes Back) by John Williams
After such a stellar resume, why in the world, even during the height of the power trip/stupidity, would George Lucas overrule and kill off the glory that is a John Williams score?!?
Great podcast guys. Glad to see that Dom isn't the only one that loses nerd points.
It was Rita Hayworth, by the way.
The file is seriously messed up for those of us who direct download, and then add to their collection. all the tags are so off, it's insane.
Wait, what happened?
That's weird. I also direct download, and the tags seem fine. Is it a player-specific problem? I use WinAmp...
Figured it out. The Album field (which usually says "The S-Words Podcast") instead says "S-Words", and the Album Artist field (which is usually blank) instead says "The S-Words Podcast".
It's hardly "insane".
Wow a 'two part' podcast. now I have to sit at my desk all day before I can hear the rest of the pod cast. Never imagined my commute would be not long enough. Thanks guys, the day will really fly - NOT!
You guys are so young.
I watched Star Wars in the theater when I was (mumblemumble), and I watched Empire Strikes Back 15 times in the theater, including twice for the digital remakes.
you guys are awsome, if I had friends that I could have similar conversations with, that wouldn't end in erie silence, I would. Sadly, I'm not so lucky. and I think the world is better for that.
Well, I'm not as big of a Star Wars fan as much as I'm a Trek fan but still it's a great saga. The first time I saw Star Wars was a long time ago in a town not so far away, when my cousin owned the VHS version of them. I liked it but my favorite was seeing the lightsaber duel between Vader and Obi-wan. Good memories and I own three lightsabers now (a blue one and Darth Maul's double bladed one which I prefer as I'm a bo staff user).
Anyhoo, Great podcast as usual and brought back seeing the special editions in theatres and only remembering inklings of the Pretrilogy (mainly, Duel of the Fates and Yoda's impressive duel). Finally, your podcast needed probably someone singing more of the Robot Chicken Star Wars song at the end, and here's an excerpt:
In the tune of "The Imperial March":
Empire on ice! Empire on ice! Here we are, the Empire on ice! All those Rebels will pay a big price! Vader's - not nice, and the Tauntaun - get's sliced, and Chewbacca - has lice, the Empire on ice! Empire on ice! [the Wampa begins to spin around for a long time on the toe of his skates] Empire on iiiiice! [the Wampa stops and rests on one knee, raising his arms while breathing heavily]
If my mother went to see the original Star wars in theatres, then I saw it in the womb, and was born six months and 7 days after its premier. But I doubt she did, since she's not a fan.
The first memory I have is taking my girlfriend to see The Empire Strikes Back at a local old-style theatre during the re-release. We are both very much fans, me more than her, though.
My parents do own that Star Wars VHS pack with the "From Star Wars to Jedi" documentary. However, its value is probably down to negative nothing, because my dad decided he needed to make the box "easier to get into". He cut off the front "wall that held the tapes in, cut the sides, and taped it all back together. My sister and I were so upset. So now it is ruined for all time.
You need to do another Star Wars episode. Or start a podcast just for Star Wars.
